The Master’s Select designation indicates that Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo made specific barrel selections for this expression that differ from the standard Harmony retail blend — the resulting profile emphasizes the fruity sherry notes and a richer, smoother texture that distinguish it from the standard expression. The World Whiskies Awards Gold Medal in 2016 validated the blend’s quality against international competition at a time when Japanese whisky was at the peak of global critical attention.
