The Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye is produced in far smaller quantities than the wheated bourbon expressions (Pappy 15, 20, 23 Year) that define the brand, and at 13 years it delivers the rye grain’s natural spice and dried fruit character through a decade-plus of barrel maturation. Where the Pappy bourbons are celebrated for wheated softness and butterscotch, the Family Reserve Rye presents a fundamentally different grain profile — assertive rye spice integrating with extended oak over 13 years.

The 2007 vintage is now approaching two decades from its original release — a document of the Van Winkle rye program from an era when allocation competition was far less intense than the current market.
