Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 2005 — the rye whiskey expression from the Van Winkle family program, produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. The 2005 vintage is now two decades from its original release.

The Van Winkle rye program is less widely known than the wheated bourbon lineup but equally sought-after by collectors. The rye expression was produced in limited quantities even relative to the allocated wheated bourbons. With the Van Winkle program’s allocation declining annually, older vintage bottles have become correspondingly scarcer through secondary channels.
