Description
Don Julio Tequila Blanco is the unaged foundation of the Don Julio portfolio — 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, double distilled at La Primavera distillery for a clean, balanced quality, and bottled without oak aging to present the pure agave character that the highland terroir and the González family’s production philosophy have refined since 1942.
Los Altos highland agave grows at elevations above 2,000 meters in mineral-rich red clay soil, producing agave with higher natural sugar content and a distinctly sweeter, more aromatic flavor profile than lowland valley tequilas. Don Julio González chose this specific highland terroir deliberately when he planted his first agave fields in 1942, recognizing that the elevation and mineral content of the soil produced agave with superior flavor complexity. The Blanco is the purest expression of that choice — double distilled for balance, unaged to keep the highland agave character fully intact, and finished with a touch of black pepper on the finish that is characteristic of the Los Altos appellation.
