Commemorating 200 years of Jalisco as a Mexican state — the Clase Azul Jalisco 200 Limited Edition Extra Añejo is a 1-liter hand-painted ceramic decanter representing the most historically significant release in Clase Azul’s premium collectible program.

Jalisco became a state of Mexico in 1823 — the year after Mexican independence from Spain. The state is the birthplace of tequila, mariachi, charrería (rodeo), and the Mexican Hat Dance (jarabe tapatio) — cultural foundations of Mexican national identity. Two centuries of Jalisco statehood is a milestone of extraordinary cultural and historical weight, and Clase Azul, as Jalisco’s most prestigious tequila brand, was the natural choice to create a commemorative expression of this significance.

Clase Azul is produced in Santa María Canchesdá, in the highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco — where the clay-rich volcanic soil and cooler temperatures produce Blue Weber agave with higher sugar concentration and a sweeter, more complex flavor profile than Lowland agave. The Jalisco 200 Extra Añejo is aged longer than the standard Clase Azul Ultra, with the hand-painted 1-liter ceramic decanter incorporating design elements that honor Jalisco’s cultural heritage — each bottle individually painted by Clase Azul’s artisan decorators, making every decanter unique.
