Blanton’s Green Label Special Reserve is the export market expression of the world’s first single barrel bourbon — bottled at 80 proof in a 700ml format, designed for the European and Asian duty-free and international retail markets where Blanton’s has maintained a presence since the brand’s founding in 1984.

The Green Label is named for its distinctive green label design, distinguishing it from the red label of Blanton’s Original, the black label of the Black Edition, and the gold label of Straight from the Barrel. At 80 proof (40% ABV) and in a 700ml bottle rather than the standard US 750ml, it represents the most approachable expression in the Blanton’s lineup — lighter in proof and body, designed to introduce single barrel bourbon to international markets unfamiliar with high-proof American whiskey.

The same Warehouse H center-cut barrels, the same high-rye Mash Bill #2, and the same Elmer T. Lee heritage as the Original — at a lower proof that brings the vanilla and honey notes of the mashbill forward while softening the spice and oak. Each bottle is drawn from a single barrel, with the barrel number and warehouse printed on the label, and features one of the eight collectible racehorse stopper designs spelling B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S.

Blanton’s Green Label is harder to find in the United States than the Original, as it is not part of domestic Buffalo Trace distribution. Wooden Cork sources it through specialty import channels and ships nationwide when stock is available.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Floral and delicate — soft vanilla, light caramel, and whispers of cedar and raisin. Palate: Light and approachable at 80 proof — vanilla, toffee, dried fruit, and white pepper with a subtle rye backbone. Finish: Clean and smooth with light oak and warm spice. The most accessible expression in the Blanton’s family.
