Blanton’s Original was launched in 1984 by master distiller Elmer T. Lee as the first bourbon commercially marketed as a single barrel expression — each bottle drawn from a single barrel selected from the center-cut of Warehouse H at Buffalo Trace. Made from a high-rye mashbill at 93 proof (46.5% ABV), with the iconic racehorse and jockey stopper that has made Blanton’s one of the most recognizable bottles in American whiskey.

The Glencairn whisky glass is the most widely used tasting glass in the industry, designed with input from master blenders to concentrate aroma through its tapered mouth while allowing the spirit to open in the wide bowl.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy vanilla, caramel, and butterscotch with baking spices — clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Palate: Sweet citrus and oak at 93 proof, complex and layered. Finish: Medium-long with returning corn and nutmeg.
