The Master Blender’s Selection series was created as a direct expression of the Master Blender’s personal vision — unconstrained by the flavor standards of V.S., V.S.O.P., or X.O. Each edition is a single batch assembled specifically for that release, numbered, and personally signed. No. 1 was the inaugural edition, establishing the series as a platform for the most ambitious cognac blending at Hennessy.

Where V.S., V.S.O.P., and X.O. represent tiers defined by minimum aging requirements, the Master Blender’s Selection is defined entirely by the blender’s intent for that specific batch — selecting eaux-de-vie from Hennessy’s vast cellar reserves purely on the basis of what produces the most interesting result. The individual numbering on each bottle documents its place within the batch.
